The Hutchins Lecture Series
The James A. Hutchins lectures series enrich the cultural life of the University and the Chapel Hill community with insights from southern arts and letters from scholars with a wide range of academic research. With topics ranging from African American women's fiction to bluegrass music, and distinguished speakers such as Lee Smith, Randall Kenan, and Trudier Harris, the James A. Hutchins Lectures bring the best in southern arts and scholarship to campus life. The Hutchins Lectures generally take place on Thursday afternoons at 4:30 in the Kresge Foundation Common Room (039) at the Johnson Center for Undergraduate Excellence in Graham Memorial Hall
