Ellen Kochansky’s Exhibition in the Love House Gallery

South Carolina textile artist Ellen Kochansky's beautiful quilts will be in the Love House gallery through April. We invite you to stop by and have a look. 

Ellen owns and designs for EKO in rural South Carolina. She has made quilts and textile art for over 30 years and has served as an American Canvas panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, and as a trustee of the American Crafts Council. Her works are in many public and private collections, including the Museum of Art + Design in NY, and the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. The New Music Collective (NMC), who performed at the opening reception, was founded in 2005 to meet the needs of a community with no support for contemporary music in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Since that time, the NMC has educated the public about new music through concerts, performances, lectures, workshops, and collaborations with artists of every medium.

One of SOHP's community partners, the Jackson Center's Fusion Youth Radio, was selected by Youthcast to be featured in their bi-weekly podcast.Fusion Youth Radio (FYR) is the Center's new, live, radio program on WXYC 89.3 that is rooted in the idea that our youth must work together to take active roles in shaping the futures of our communities.
